Introduction

The Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) is one of the University of Bern’s strategic research centers and Switzerland’s center of excellence for sustainable development. CDE was founded as an interdisciplinary research center of the University of Bern in 2009. CDE’s commitment is to advance innovative approaches in research and education that are appropriate for transforming highly complex sustainability problems into widely supported sustainable development pathways.

Responsible in the ASSET Project

CDE coordinates jointly with CIAT in the Knowledge Hub. CDE works on the knowledge hub infrastructure, the ability to capitalize knowledge by building links with other databases, and aligning the knowledge produced, managed and intended for public policy. CDE has extensive experience through the publication of atlases and projects on knowledge for policy.
