Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS - Vietnam)

Introduction

Under the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), is a premier scientific research and development (R&D) institution working for the country’s sustainable agriculture and rural development. VAAS has an interdisciplinary research function to develop agricultural production system and commodity sectors, sustainable agricultural value chain in ecological regions. 
VAAS incorporates 18 member institutions, including the Northern Mountainous Agriculture & Forestry Science Institute (NOMAFSI), the Fruits and Vegetables Research Institute (FAVRI), and the Center for Agrarian Systems Research and Development (CASRAD), that will be more specifically mobilized and involved in ASSET activities in Vietnam.

Responsible in the ASSET Project

VAAS is involved in the Flagship Level Action Research and the Capacity Development program, offering a diversity of skills from agricultural systems, the agronomic, socio-economic and environmental assessments to marketing, value chain and food systems.
