Introduction

The National University of Laos is to a centre of excellence in higher education, research and cultural preservation and contribute to capacity building, and strengthening of human resources. Founded in 1996, with departments brought in from other existing colleges, it is the only national university in the country. NUOL is engaged into research programs through the Faculty of Agriculture where its research mainly consists of crop production, plant protection, climate change adaptation, natural resource uses and management, agricultural policies.

Responsible in the ASSET Project

NUOL is involved in the Flagship Level Action Research and the Capacity Development program, offering a diversity of skills from agricultural and livestock systems, the agronomic, socio-economic and environmental assessments to marketing, value chain and food systems.
