Research question and objectives: 

Collect information on how COVID - 19 crisis has impacted the production, distribution and consumption of agroecological products and has led the stakeholders to implement resilience strategies and innovations to maintain agro-ecological value chains could be relevant to complete the diagnosis realized during the scoping studies

Approaches and methods:

  • Field data collection on the impacts of Covid 19 on the incomes and livelihoods of agroecological farmers and consumer purchasing change
  • Analyze the persistence of agroecological markets in the time of Covid 19
  • Analyze resilience strategies and adaptation of the various actors involved in the agroecological transition, in the province of Xiengkhouang in Laos. 
  • Tools: Transect walk, Focus group discussion and individual interview

Expected results:

  • Determined the impacts of Covid19 on the incomes and livelihoods of agroecological farmers, incomes of traders and consumer purchasing.
  • Assessed the persistence of agroecological market during the Covid19 crisis 
  • Identified the strategies of resilience and adaptation of the agroecological actors
